Group Structure
The children are assigned to one of the four named squads, Predators, Terriers, Colts and Youth, thereby promoting a sense of team belonging amongst the children. The fixed group structure also encourages positive social interaction amongst the children, they make new friends and look forward to seeing them on a weekly basis as well as getting to know the group’s resident coach.

Registration & Payment Details 

 

To secure a place at Saturday Soccer School bookings and payments are made in advance for a period of 10 weeks,  at a cost of £40.

Should new players join On The Ball after the start of a course they will be charged on a pro-rata basis. 

The first session is a taster and is free of charge.

Venues

Our training facilities at Aberdour and St Nicholas School are first class, comprising of junior grass pitches, an all weather surface and an indoor sports hall. The facility enables the Soccer School to run all scheduled events irrespective of the weather conditions.

Equipment & Kit    

Boots and Trainers  - Please ensure the children come to training with the appropriate kit to play indoors or outside. We will always aim to use the grass pitches as long as the weather permits. Don't forget Warm Clothing.

 

Shin Pads - safety first! Please ensure all players arrive at training with shin pads.

 

Drinks - The children will be expected to work hard and the coaches will encourage drinks breaks. Please ensure the children bring plenty to drink.     

                                              


Coaching Model   - our coaching methods are based on the FA four corner principles.  

 

Technical - developing skills and understanding. The format is unopposed technical practice, uneven conditioned skills practice and small sided games.

 

Physical - agility, balance and co-ordination, including functional movement.  

Psychology - addresses individual personality and behaviour, understanding how different children learn the game to perform and compete.

 

Social - is an understanding of the external influences and the impact of negative and positive behaviour on the social learning environment.
